What causes PTSD?
It is likely that many dually disordered individuals will be referred to dual disorder treatment from primary addictions or primary mental health treatment. This means that the managed care organization must communicate its assessment criteria for one or the other disorders, and must also agree internally (between addictions and mental health divisions) as to what standardized instruments will be used. This study was undertaken as part of our ongoing work to upgrade wheelchair quality. Laboratory tests were conducted to determine which battery chargers would ensure that the user’s batteries are fully charged each night and also ensure that the battery lifetime was not diminished. Five commercial chargers were tested on a standardised pair of gel cell batteries of a type commonly used to power wheelchairs and medical scooters. Results of this study indicate a clear preference between chargers. As a result, we have changed the chargers we purchase. We anticipate that our clients will now experience longer life from their wheelchair gel cell batteries.

A mini blind (mini-blind, miniblind) is a type of non-vertical window blind made of long, narrow slats held together by string and located inside the window. Dr. Charles Bogdahn and I are doing a small research study on recovering ice hallucinators in the drug court system.

The “meth run” completely empties the dopamine storage system, and the resulting dysphoria and paranoia seem relentless. NIDA’s positron emission technology (PET) scans confirm what users claim: It takes three months for the dopamine depletion to recover. Amino acid nutrients, such as QUIT vitamins with neurotransmitter replacements, are sometimes helpful. These drug survivors, however, are in for a long journey. It takes months before there is any light in the tunnel; sometimes it is a train wreck, but sometimes it is freedom.
We have recently connected our research with the Honolulu drug court. It provides the bridge to a therapeutic locus of control. This drug court, with a census of 180(+), obtains weekly drug screens and ensures daily contact with group therapy. It also adds cognitive “restructuring”, provides transportation to appointments, and monitors via home visits and intensive in-community outreach. Dr. Charles Bogdahn and I are doing a small research study on recovering ice hallucinators in the drug court system.
